2022, A New Chapter

 Greetings family and friends!

2022 has been an unforgettable year.

We started January heading to Sanibel Island. A tradition we look forward to making (as soon as they rebuild). It was Ellie's and Charlie's first plane ride too! Our next adventure was a great trip to Magee Marsh in May for Bird Week, with Emily's dad, where we saw a ton of birds, big and small. As the Spring came to a close, we wrapped up our time in the Pittsburgh area with the girls going to Kennywood (for the first time - who would have thought it would take 12 years). We did our best to say "ta-ta for now" to as many wonderful people we became friends with over the years in Ambridge, so we threw a big open house party with them all, hosting our very amazing friends' woodfired pizza food truck.

Our summer was one for the books -- and hopefully, we made memories that will last a lifetime being nomads for 7 weeks between selling our old house and waiting for our new home to be finished. We spent the bulk of it at the family farm, a.k.a. the Lodge, where we spent many afternoons on the river with the Warner family. We made a few trips to VA to check in on the construction, attended the kid's first Nationals baseball game, and then a week at Lake Anna with family and lots of kids, wake surfing and playing in the sun.

We closed on our new house the end of July and quickly started taking advantage of being close to D.C. The family went to the Frida Kahlo immersive experience and Emily went to see a Cirque de Soleil show. This fall has been full of extended family time now that we're so much closer.

We are so very, very grateful that we have found the most perfect little nook of Shepherdstown, WV. Our neighborhood is the best street with the most amazing people living on it (we're probably biased), and we enjoy weekly hangouts and kids running around and playing.

  • Charlie (5) finished up his school year writing his name and "helping" the sisters with math homework.  He started this year at an exceptional outdoor classroom school on federal conservancy land. We all love taking him to school to see the view.
  • Ellie (7) lost her first tooth while she was in 1st grade and has started 2nd grade making wonderful friends and mastering her roller staking skills. She also got her ears pierced and was so brave!
  • Izzy (10) had a great close to 3rd grade with a violin recital and working on two original books, including the illustrations (hoping to publish in 2023). Now in 4th grade, she is a member of the student rep and the school chorus.
  • Travis is dedicating lots of time to house projects (and likes it), hunting with our brother-in-law, and closing in on his 4th year with KeyLogic.
  • Emily is loving the social buzz of our new community, seeing her sister often, and is about to celebrate her 2nd anniversary with DTS. With a fitness center in the basement now, she's taking advantage of convenient pilates in the basement.
Chateau Warner wishes you all a very holly jolly holiday season and a bright 2023.
