There's never enough room to write a note in a card, so here is our note to you about our year. This year has been one full of firsts. We started in January with our first foster dog, which led to Emily starting her own animal rescue. To date we have had 12 foster dogs call our house home and we couldn't be more excited about that-- to see more on Give2Live Rescue. Our home celebrated many firsts as well, we had our first big home project with new windows, a new fenced-in yard, and we celebrated our first year there in June. This summer we had our first Warner beach trip with the immediate family, all 19 of us (9 nieces & nephews). In October we celebrated our first anniversary as a married couple back at Rocky Gap Resort, where we were so fortunate to find the weather for our big day didn't involve freezing temperatures.
Travis has had a very exciting year as well; he celebrated his first year at EQT as a geologist. He loves what he is doing and enjoys being a rock nerd. While at home, he has discovered he's quite the chef and, as always, is the outdoors man. We have cleared much of our backyard to create a more open grass area for the dogs and us to enjoy. His next science endevour will be in the kitchen creating homebrews. Watch out for updates from the lab!
Emily had had a very busy year too. Along with operating the dog rescue she has been in school year-long working towards her Masters in Teaching, Curriculum, and Instruction from Drexel Univ.-- emphasis in elementary education. She will finish her student teaching in March and will hope to be in her own classroom after that. In November she started working for Pristine Public Relations out of Miami and just loves working on her journalism skills.
